    JKP offers New Unity responsibility for Justice, Defense Ministries

    RIGA, Oct 12 (LETA) – The New Conservative Party (JKP) has offered New Unity to be in charge of the Justice Ministry and Defense Ministry in the new government, said New Unity’s candidate for the prime minister, Krisjanis Karins, after the meeting of both parties.

    Karins said that JKP has made a proposal, and New Unity will discuss this proposal in a meeting on Monday, October 15.

    JKP today planned to hold repeated meetings with KPV LV, For Development/For, the National Alliance and New Unity, while KPV Lv announced it would first meet with all parties elected to the 13th parliament and only then will hold a repeated meeting with JKP.

    According to the preliminary election results, Harmony party has won 23 seats in the 13th Saeima, KPV LV and the New Conservative Party will have sixteen MPs each, For Development/For and National Alliance - thirteen MPs each, Greens/Farmers - eleven, and New Unity - eight MPs.
