Arta Biruma resigns from Stradins Hospital board

RIGA, June 13 (LETA) - Arta Biruma, a board member of Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital (Stradins Hospital), tendered resignation at the end of May, Health Ministry spokesman Oskars Sneiders informed LETA.

Today, the hospital’s shareholders appointed Janis Komisars, head of the hospital’s new construction projects, as an acting member of the hospital’s board.

Komisars will be performing the duties of board member until a candidate to replace Biruma is picked in a public tender, Sneiders said.

Komisars has graduated from Riga Polytechnic Institute (now Riga Technical University) with an engineer’s diploma and for the past five years has been working at Stradins Hospital as head of the hospital’s Block A project.

Ilze Kreicberga and Elita Busa are staying on as members of the Stradins Hospital board.
